It was a frenetic and action-packed 90 minutes of football at Anfield but, at the final whistle, Liverpool and Chelsea had to settle for shared spoils in a game which could have gone either way.
After a goalless first-half the match deadlock was finally broken when former Chelsea man Mohamed Salah was picked out by Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and continued his blistering run by slotting home past Thibaut Courtois.
A barrage of Chelsea pressure followed and the equaliser was served in the most unlikely of circumstances, substitute Willian lobbing Simon Mignolet with a cross-cum-shot.
