Christian Walton signs new four-year deal at Brighton

Christian Walton has also featured for England at youth level

Christian Walton has signed a new four-year contract with Brighton & Hove Albion.

The goalkeeper, who is only 21, has played four times for Brighton's first team but has made over 50 senior appearances in the last two seasons after loan spells at Bury, Luton, Southend and his hometown club Plymouth.Walton, who made his Brighton senior debut in 2014, has also featured for the England's U19, U20 and U21 sides.Brighton's manager Chris Hughton admits Walton will go back out on loan to continue his development


Manager Chris Hughton said: "We are delighted Christian has committed long term to the club, as he has a very bright future ahead.

"He had two very good loan spells with Luton Town and Southend United last season, which really benefited his ongoing development.

"Christian will go out on loan again this season, as he is at a stage in his career where he needs to be playing regular football to continue the excellent progress he has made."
