Harvey Barnes Joins The Reds!

The winger arrives at Oakwell having had a fantastic 2017 so far, most recently winning the Golden Boot award from midfield for England at the Toulon Tournament where the Three Lions finished as champions.
As well as winning the award at MK Dons, Barnes picked up the Development Squad Player of the Year award at parent club Leicester City for his superb performances there, to end the season with three personal awards to his name and a winners medal for his county.
Leicester were so impressed with the development of their young attacker, they rewarded him with a Champions League appearance against FC Porto prior to his loan spell in Milton Keynes.
Barnes will wear squad number 15 and is eligible to face Ipswich Town at Oakwell tomorrow if selected.
With another exciting addition to his squad, Paul Heckingbottom commented, “Harvey is a really talented young player and we are excited to see him come to Oakwell. I am really thankful to Craig Shakespeare and his team at Leicester for allowing him to join us on loan. Once Harvey knew we were interested and we had a chat, he knew he wanted to come here to further develop himself following a really impressive run of games over the last year and I want to see him now continue that with us.”
In an exclusive interview with iFollow Barnsley, Barnes said, “I'm delighted to get it done and I can't wait to start. I got some really good experience out on loan last season and certainly learnt a few different things so this is now a perfect next step to come into the Championship and test myself. I feel I have began well in my step-up from youth football and I need to keep working hard now to progress further."
