Chelsea to make move for Paris Saint Germain defender

Antonio Conte

Chelsea have contacted Paris Saint Germain over the potential transfer of Serge Aurier who has been heavily linked with Manchester United in the past.

The Ivorian has a troublesome reputation and is seemingly on his way out of the French giants this summer.

Antonio Conte’s side have been looking for defensive reinforcements during the summer window and have now contacted PSG over Aurier.

It has been reported by Le10Sport that the player would cost the club in the region of €30m which could be seen as a very good deal.

Aurier certainly has the quality and with Kyle Walker commanding a £50m fee, Aurier certainly fits the bill if you can manage his supposed temper.

Though, it may be more difficult than simply agreeing on a transfer with the French side, with Aurier currently banned from the United Kingdom.

The defender has banned from the country after assaulting a police officer and was unable to face Arsenal in a Champions League match a couple seasons back.

It is thought that the player’s appeal is scheduled for next week and then he will find out if he is able to step foot in Britain.

Until then, no doubt Manchester United and Chelsea will be keeping a very close eye on how proceedings go.

There have been suggestions that the club could well move for Riyad Mahrez after interest last season.

Now, the pair have been hanging out together after they were seen going for dinner together.

It is worth noting that the meeting was in Leicester and that Mahrez was wearing his Foxes attire.
