Arsenal Continuing Talks To Sign £50m-Rated Attacker Ahead Of Liverpool

Lemar has developed in to one of the most exciting young attackers in Europe after scoring 14 goals and providing a further 17 assists to help Monaco win the Ligue 1 title last season.

The 21-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal this summer with The Sun reporting last month that the Gunners were close to reaching an agreement with Monaco after seeing several offers knocked back.

The Express then claimed that Arsenal were facing stiff competition for Lemar’s signature after Liverpool joined the chase while Barcelona have also been credited with an interest following the sale of Neymar to PSG.

Monaco have insisted that Lemar won’t be sold after losing several of their key players already this summer but that hasn’t stopped Arsenal from continuing their pursuit of the French international.
Arsene Wenger has confirmed he is still looking to further strengthen his squad ahead of another busy season and a new attacker appears to be on the agenda amid on-going doubts over the long-term future of several players.

The likes of Alexis Sanchez, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mesut Ozil all have one year left on their contracts so Wenger needs to plan for the future but the newspaper suggests he’ll need to pay £50m to sign Lemar.

We’ll have to wait and see whether the north Londoners will be prepared to meet that asking price or whether Liverpool will step-up their pursuit of the Frenchman but I think Lemar would be an excellent signing for either club.
