Andy Yiadom Deal Falls Through

The news broke moments after Barnsley announced the singing of former Huddersfield trialist Dimitri Cavaré, the right back was expected to replace Yiadom in the Barnsley squad but now the pair will seemingly compete for the right back slot at the Tykes.

Barnsley manager Paul Heckingbottom broke the news, citing a breakdown between Yiadom and Huddersfield.

Speculation is that Yiadom failed a medical that was reportedly scheduled for last Thursday whilst other rumours are that the player failed to agree personal terms with the Terriers.

This will be a blow to David Wagner after he confirmed that Huddersfield were very interested in making Yiadom an addition to their Premier League squad. Huddersfield will now have to turn their attentions elsewhere with the name of Junior Sambia now circulating around West Yorkshire.

Sambia currently plays for FC Chamois Niort who compete in Ligue 2 in the French league.

Huddersfield of course have already looked to the French market this summer with Steve Mounie having an instant impact having joined for a club record fee from Montpellier
