Haskins vs Burnett: Ryan Burnett hopes to produce emotional world title win over Lee Haskins
Ryan Burnett admits it will be hard to contain his emotions if he pulls off a world title triumph on his return to Belfast.
The 25-year-old moved away to pursue a professional career six years ago, but is back in his hometown to challenge IBF bantamweight champion Lee Haskins on Saturday, live on Sky Sports.
Burnett is attempting to win a world belt in his 17th fight, just like local hero Wayne McCullough, and is predicting passionate celebrations if he pulls off this feat.
"Belfast is a very proud city and I'm looking forward to giving Belfast another world champion," said Burnett.
"I moved away from home six years ago to get to this point where I am, and now I'm here, words cannot describe what it's going to mean to me.
"When I lift up that title, it very much will be an emotional occasion."
