Leeds United offered goalkeeper Kamil Miazek a contract on a free transfer.

Leeds United have offered goalkeeper Kamil Miazek a contract and could snap up the former Poland under-19 international on a free transfer, according to the club’s academy scout Jakub Bokiej on Twitter.

The 21-year-old has been without a team since being released by Polish second-tier outfit Chojniczanka Chojnice at the end of last season.

Whites manager Thomas Christiansen has overhauled his goalkeeping options at Elland Road since taking over from previous incumbent Garry Monk in the summer.

The Spaniard allowed last season’s number one Robert Green to leave for Premier League Huddersfield Town, whilst backup stoppers Ross Turnbull and Marco Silvestri also departed.

As replacements Christiansen drafted in Felix Wiedwald from Bundesliga side Werder Bremen, whilst Andy Lonergan arrived from Championship rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Now it appears that a third new face between the sticks could be on the way after the news that Miazek has been offered a deal.

The former Feyenoord trainee was on the bench for Leeds’ development side on Monday night as they were narrowly defeated 1-0 by Burnley.

He made four appearances for Chojniczanka’s senior side last term, but failed to make the matchday squad for any of their final 15 matches of the league campaign.

This looks to be a signing for the future and with Wiedwald and Lonergan very much 

the first and second choice in goal at the moment it will likely be some time before Miazek makes his debut for the first team.

Leeds are currently sitting fifth in the Championship but after a strong start to the season have lost three of their last four matches.

With that in mind the international break may have come at just the right time for the Yorkshire giants, who will have had a chance to regroup before the visit of Reading on Saturday afternoon.
