John Terry is set to join Bournemouth on £100k-a-week deal

JOHN TERRY is moving closer to joining Bournemouth after meeting boss Eddie Howe for talks.

The former Chelsea captain is available on a free transfer and is set to land a deal worth around £100,000 a week.

Terry, 36, dropped a massive hint that he plans to continue his playing career after leaving Chelsea -and the Cherries are favourites to sign up the defender.

He met Howe recently to discuss the possibility of joining the South Coast club which has just recorded its best ever season by finishing ninth in the Premier League.

Howe wants Terry’s renowned leadership qualities to beef up his back four to try to push even further up the league next season.

Terry dropped a huge hint immediately after his last game for Chelsea on May 21 that he wishes to continue his playing career for as long as possible.
