Iheanacho to miss Tottenham clash

Nigerian starlet, Kelechi Iheanacho will miss Saturday’s Barclays English Premier League game between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.

Iheanacho has played in three of City’s six opening Premier League fixtures this term but will not be included in Saturday’s match day squad in North London.

The 18-year-old was widely expected to start his first competitive game for City in Tuesday’s 4-1 League Cup victory over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

He however missed out on the fixture as a result of injury and the City manager, Manuel Pellegrini has now confirmed that he will play no part in Saturday’s game at White Hart Lane.

“The injuries at this moment are (Eliaquim) Mangala, Gael Clichy, Fabian Delph, David Silva, Wilfried Bony and Kelechi Iheanacho.

“Those are the six players that are injured.

“A lot of injured players with different injuries. Not just one reason,” Pellegrini revealed in his press conference on Friday.

Iheanacho scored in his second Premier League game of the season as City overcame Crystal Palace 1-0 at Selhurst Park on September 12.
